SELF DISCOVERY

01:40

                      Hi guys,
hope your weekend was great? Thank God it’s Monday, wishing y’all a productive week ahead. I was going through my diary or journal (I really don’t know what to call it, I just write important stuff in it) and I stumbled on something I wrote  several months ago for myself and I decided to share it with y’all. If I can remember vividly, at this point in my life when I wrote this, I was acting carefree, loose and nonchalant about some core principles and values I already had and someone watching had to call me to order. Dear, something you should never forget is 'there is someone watching you, looking up to you, admiring you and longing to be like you', so when you come to that point when you are about throwing in the towel and putting on that “ I don’t care” attitude please remember that there are little eyes watching and there are some discouraged minds that are lifted just by speaking to you, so gird up your loins, don’t give up and keep living virtuously by so doing, you are affecting lives positively.
Back to my story, I was not aware that I was losing something until a friend called me and said ‘you are not the Chinomso I used to know, what happened to her? That question stroke me so hard and made me think and examine myself thoroughly. When I got back to my room that day, I prayed, brought out my journal and wrote these down, titled ‘SELF DISCOERY’

~I am a virtuous lady with a testimony that should not be soiled
~I must not lose any of the virtues I possess instead I must gain more till I am that perfect image in God’s plan for me.
~I must stop all bad habits and careless living and package myself as a daughter in God’s kingdom.
~Shun all looseness in the way I talk, act and in my comportment. Live a presentable life.
~Dress decently and classy to glorify God
~Be an example of a godly, righteous and virtuous lady always.
~Don’t trade my time with God for anything.
~Be me and stop trying to be someone else.
~Don’t make anyone or anything the source of my happiness.
~Stand out of the crowd, don’t mingle with them.
~Trust in the Lord and lean not on my own understanding, in all my ways acknowledge Him and He would direct my path (Proverbs 3:5,6).
~Surrender my all to God and allow Him to direct me.
~Dare to be different, dare to stand alone for what is right, dare to make positive impact
~Enrich myself spiritually, possess spiritual depth, get a deeper understanding of spiritual things
~My life must not disappoint God.
~Trust God to give me the very best in life. Don’t underestimate yourself.
~I am born to make impact and a positive difference. I must remain focused and stick to God’s plan for me.
~Watch my thoughts, words and actions. Be disciplined.
~Run with a vision, burn with a passion and trade with a talent.

Anytime I read this, it pulls me back to the right track and the right direction to take. Life is full of distractions and challenges that forces us to deviate from the right path. Someone that does not know who she is or doesn’t have a direction would be easy swayed with the least form of opposition. There is therefore the need for self discovery if you want to live a purposeful and meaningful life. Dear reader, have you discovered  yourself, do you know your position in Christ; if not why don’t you do exactly what I did, spend some time to pray, allow God to lead you, then pick up a note pad or diary and write it down.

N:B. Tell someone about the love of God this week.

SHANYI xoxo
